Nope, thru all the years Ive been deer hunting, Ive learned to hunt smart, and backpacking in stand/sticks in 90 degree temps and stinking up the place isnt smart, plus, I'd only get 2 hrs sleep after work tonight if I go out in the AM ... nope, that is what I do for the rut only ;0) .... I'll wait till the 59 degrees that is coming for Friday with northerlies (NE) and go out in the afternoon and over night lows for Sat in the mid 40's, then I'll go out in the AM (SE winds predicted ) .... I'm in no rush, I have 3 months a head of me ....

Not me
Way too hot.
Plus I’ve gotta finish pulling my transmission out of my expedition so I can replace the flywheel and starter.
Yaaaay

No thanks, way too hot. I got the urge to sit in a stand out early thanks to Reduction Zone opportunities. I will wait until later in the week or the weekend to get back out.

I set last night in NE corner because of the wind and cornfield bordering my property. I saw 10 deer, 4 bucks and 6 does. All the bucks were small, 6pt was the biggest. 3 were in a bachelor group. Beautiful night to sit. Ill stay out of my stands now until very last of the month. Dont want to stink them up til gun plus the big boys arent moving much until dark. h.h.

Had a Spike at 23 yds and a Mom still nursing a small fawn at 14 yds on Friday afternoon ... Sat. AM had a half racked 2 pt and a pretty 6pt walk by at 18 yds ... sat in different locations both days .. try maybe again next weekend .... I want to get a nice Doe in the freezer before the rut and vacations start ..

I did the same thing. Saw 4 deer- near my spot. Took too long getting up the tree or would have had a chance.

You?

I wont shoot baby buck (1.5 or under), nor will I shoot a Doe that I can see is still nursing, the Doe also must be around 100lbs or more field dressed and 1.5 or older ... I could have killed any of those deer multiple times over .... I dont have to kill to have a good hunt
