I had every thing set up to video my hunt this year when a doe walked out and I didnt turn on the camera and then this buck pops out. I quickly reach up for my Ruger which was hanging on a double hook and the buck saw me move. I was afraid he was going to leave so I took a quick 50 yard shot. He dropped at the shot and I readied for him to get back up. He would try and get up but couldnt so I figured he was spinned. I waited for about 20 minutes and he would flip his head around every once in a while trying to get up. Finally I decided to get down and put him down, no need in letting him suffer. I climbed down and walked up to him and thought he was about to die so I waited a few more minutes and then decided it was time for the coup de grace. I lined up the scope and shot him in the heart. He still lived for another couple minutes. The first shot had hit him in the neck, so i pulled the shot high and left. My shooting rail it too low and I think that caused me to pull the shot. Im very proud of this buck. His G1 and G2 are 11 1/2" long, inside spread was only 18" and his bases are 5 1/4" around. Not sure what he will score but taxidermist told me he will rough score him in a few days. h.h. PS- I have the coup de grace shot on video but not sure I should post it or not? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDEItkdobA4 ![[Linked Image]](http://www.jesseshunting.com/photopost/data/519/medium/IMG_04052.JPG)

Thank you guys for all the nice comments!
I processed the buck today and I dont believe Ive ever ground meat as tough as this buck was. His neck meat stopped my grinder 3 times using the sausage plate. Got him all done and in the freezer.
Im done hunting until Dec 1&2 park reduction hunt at Chain. Im Leaving the doe alone on my property trying to build up the herd in my area. Ive got about 25 resident deer now and hope to keep it growing. There are a lot of hunters all around my property that kill every deer that jumps the fence and that is their right to do so but This is the 4th year now for laying off doe and its paying off. h.h.

I have not been shooting does for years HH. And yes, it has helped a little. The Amish neighbors do a good enough job of keeping the doe population down. Saturday was a fiasco with the neighbors, and their apparent need to shoot across the fence to our place, where the deer hang out. I do not pressure them on our place and they STAY there for the most part, but the neighbors see them there, and can't stand it. At 10 till 7:00 on opening morning, I hear tap, tap, tap….several times, then I hear that unmistakable creaking of fence wire…..I didn't put 2 and 2 together until I got out of my stand at noon to go switch grain trucks for my BIL. This is what I seen: ![[Linked Image]](http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e329/GYaz/IMG_0265_zps84f79aa0.jpg) Yep, RIGHT on the fence line. Its on the property they can hunt, but they bent the top of the fence over so they could shoot through the blind over the fence….toward our woods….directly in line with where I am sitting!!!! This is not their property, just are hunting it. I would have never suspected that, as i know where their stand locations are….too far to shoot to our fields. And that is the "double corner posts" where a lot of coyotes have met their demise over the years!!!

I'd call them in for not having orange on the blind. Getting a ticket for that would send a warning shot that you are not going to screw around with them.
That and post one of those bright orange No Trespassing plastic covers that slide over a fence post, about 5 yards on your property right in front of that blind. That is what I did to every fence sitter treestand on the land that I own. Make them stare at a that bright orange sign while they hunt.

Ive got the same thing in the N.W. corner of my property. The neighbors property is an open field with nothing but grass and his niece wants to hunt the deer on my property. Ive told her not to shoot onto my property and not to cross the fence unless she calls me first and shows me blood going onto my property.
Get a couple pieces of plywood, paint them pink with no hunting and put them up on your side of the fence. h.h.

HH, Congrats on the buck. He's a good one. Yaz, As far as the blind goes, maybe you should take another blind, and put it right in front of their blind on your side of the fence. Kind of a hunting blind stand off..... The look on the Amish folks faces the next time they tried to hunt their blind would have to be priceless.....
