I went last saturday in Jackson County. Was skeptical about going this early cuz I normally don't even look for them til mushroom and turkey season and then I just kinda keep an eye out for everything at the same time but this year decided to go ahead and try to get out there early and get them fresh so they wouldn't be all chewed up. Don't know if they have all shedded yet but after about 20 minutes I found what looked like about a 2.5 year old 50-55 inch side with 5 points. Then I got the fever and looked for about 7 more hours trying to find the other side or more sheds from other bucks. Jumped a few deer that had no antlers but they may have been does. Never found the other side unfortunately. Did find a doe and a spike skull and a turtle shell though. Found several turkey feathers too. But no more sheds just the one. Think its from a buck I actually have trail cam pics of from this last season too. He will be very nice next year. Been watching several deer in my backyard in my security light every night before work. They come right up to my house. Even had 17 of them one night 2 yards to 20 yards away from house. None of them had antlers... lived in Jackson County all my life but just moved to a different area in the county. So not sure if theres just a lotta does around here or most of the bucks have shedded. Have a hunch that there are still a descent amount of bucks still carrying there headgear or atleast half. Despite seeing all the antlerless deer everynight in my backyard... but just not sure..

A spike today, a trophy tomorrow...
