Wow what a precident. Does that mean anyone can keep an animal hit by vehicle for example that still lives and bla bla. DNR do your job and yes Mother Nature shoulda taken course. It's balance. This has gotten out of control. I understand initial reaction but C'mon use some sense. Do not like when people think they are above the law. Like everyone said we would have been stung bad for such an act. Don't get it!!!

Its called "prosecutorial discretion". Yes, by the letter of the law it was a crime. As we have all agreed upon on numerous occasions the DNR and its officers are understaffed. They clearly never made this case a priority..rightfully so. Now the governor and the DNR agree. Scoreboard.

http://www.theindychannel.com/news/...arges-be-dismissed-in-dani-the-deer-flap I kinda figured this is where we'd end up concerning this situation. It would appear the Governor didn't want/need the negative press for the state.

Scoreboard. I would guess the popo was told to get rid of the deer for several months before he forced the hand of the DNR officer. You and I both know of the discretion that goes on between all the government agency's.

Again our legislative bodies have told IDNR what they can or can not do! It was not and is not their(legislative nor the Governors) authority. IDNR was given theauthority to manage Indiana's resources by the legislature and approved by a Governors signature..........
Must have been only in times where it is not making national press.
Sad truely sad..........
When science meets tradition there will be sparks.....
