Deer hunting is similar to fishing, in that a small percentage of the hunters kill the majority of the deer.
I hunted a lot and could have easily killed a half dozen legal deer this year, but choose not too due to what I see as a seriously declining deer population in my locale.
However, there are other greedy hunters in the neighborhood that feel they are entitled to fill as many tags as they legally can, and a few of these guys in an area can wreck the population in a few seasons.
One guy I ran into the other day bragged that he and a couple buddies butchered 23 deer. Guys like this are slamming the does and wrecking the population in some areas, and it's not going to change till the DNR steps in and severely reduces the number of tags they are allowed.
Imagine trying to manage deer on a smaller acreage with a couple of these guys hunting next door. It is a lost cause.
