Hi there,

I am looking to gear up for the upcoming deer season and have been debating which broadheads to use. There is a lot of chatter about fixed vs. mechanical but I would love to hear your real world experiences.

Do you feel fixed blades give you better reliability, especially in tough conditions or have mechanicals become reliable enough to trust on big bucks: ?? I have heard some say mechanicals can fail to open on impact, while others swear by their accuracy compared to fixed blades.

Also,, are there any specific brands or models you have had great success with: ?? I will mainly be hunting in wooded terrain with shots averaging 30-40 yards so precision is a big factor for me. I have also read this thread (edit) but still looking for more advice and tips.

Thanks in advance for sharing your insights I really value the expertise in this community.

Tony

I tried the swhackers this year, neither deer went more than 70 yard. I will probably continue with them.
