Have noticed quite a few deer this year that are "sneezing". Here's a video I took of a doe doing it. I've read that it can be an infestation of bot fly larvae inside their nasal tract that causes this.
Well I was extremely fortunate last evening. That cold front brought this guy to a scrape I was sitting over right at about sunset. My biggest buck ever, looks like he'll end up with a total gross in the high 150's.
Nice critter ........... time to try for a Doe ...... or go fishin' .... ;0) ....... still havnt been out due to work/weather... will be out this Fri. ... FINALLY !! ... vac #1 starts the 25th for 9 days ....
Doe tag got filled on the morning of October 1st. I would go to Kentucky for rut-cation, but my first child is due to be born October 27th, so no traveling for me haha! Now I can just relax and maybe try to help put my brother and father on a buck. Snapped a few pictures in the daylight before we got him cut up. Life is good.
Update: Matthew Frederick Finney was born November 3rd at 1:19 am. I feel extremely blessed to have this healthy baby boy! What an amazing November prize! And so cool that he has a prime rut birthday haha!
Good luck to you guys who still have tags, next week or so should be real good for rut action. Hope to see some success stories soon!
Wow, what a giant! Sometimes I kind of miss living over there. My dad shot a 170+ over there at Fairbanks FWA back in 2009, that Wabash valley soil grows 'em big!! Lots of season to go, never know what might show up in November, hope you see some hogs!
