Ive been waiting on cold weather and snow so I can set snares. I usually catch around 10 on my property each year. Last year I got 7 females. Its a lot easier to set snares in the snow. Once a you find a dog track coming out of a thicket if you set that track they usually will follow the same trail they used before.....in a few days dog will be in your snare if you've set it right. I switched from trapping to snaring because of bum knee and bad back. Setting snares I dont have to bend over too far. I did shoot a male in muzzleloader season. h.h.
