But I ran down to Texas to hunt a private ranch that has never been hunted for birds (besides family members) since the 1860's ... or at least that is what the family members say. I was invited along with two other friends to visit with the property biologist to advise on long term structured hunts in future years. As a consultant and guest we were allowed to hunt and will be going back as guests in future years. Needless to say it was a pretty incredible experience. I killed 4 long beards with my bow in 4 sits over two days. I could have punched 20+ tags easily in that period with the bow. I've never seen anything quite like it.
