I think the fast bolt speed and clean cutting of a good broadhead plays a role. My (relatively slow) 305 FPS Exalibur blows right through the deer and they don't react like they know they have been hit, good broadheds AND good shot placement lead to short blood trails. Congrats!
This buck was standing at the front of the decoy when I shot. He did not go far either. Quick clean ethical kill is what we are looking for!
