On November 10th 2013 the IDHA will be hosting its annual handicapped/disabled deer hunt. We are in need of a couple(2) people willing to attend the hunt and escort/guide for the hunt, you will be assigned a person who will be hunting. Only he or she are allowed to posess a firearm and hunt. Some of these people are capable of getting in the woods, most are not. We allow the hunters to do as much of the hunting experience as possible, you may be required to do the tracking, dragging and field dressing, most participants try to do it all. Most of the hunting is done from a vehicle, Cranes rule is the vehicle must be at a complete stop before shooting from a vehicle. Yes, some might consider this "road hunting", it is Crane's rule. And for many of the participants it is the only deer hunting they will do this season. success rates are generally around 50%. There are only 80 participants this year.
If you want to volunteer contact me via email or pm with the following information as Crane is doing background checks (at no charge).
Name Address Phone Number Date of Birth Driver's License Number
Entry by Burns City gate, 4:30 to 6:00 AM. The gate will be closed from 6:00 to 7:00 AM, change of the guards.
In the past people who are drawn for the Crane military hunt have used this hunt as a chance to scout for their upcoming hunts.
I need your info by Monday October 28

Not at ALL Chevy, if you want to help I will guarantee it will be one of the most rewarding experiences you have ever done.
You drive, or set in given areas and let the "hunter" hunt. Once a shot is taken ...... you assist in the recovery.
This hunt is ALL about donating time to those who are impared.

Years ago when I lived in KY, I was asked to take a blind guy turkey hunting. I sat behind him and gave commands and guided by voice commands his aim. Killed a jake at 20 yards.
It was one of the most, if not the most, fulfilling hunt I ever went on. Like to do that more in the future.
