Gentlemen, I wanted to post this. I have enjoyed, mostly, all the various times on this site. I certainly considered all of you friends and have great respect for all of you. However, I have come to the conclusion that it is no longer responsible for me to follow any of these hunting sights. I have also, earlier today, resigned from all organizations. The emotion and attacking is not something that I can stand any longer. I wish all of you well and good health.

Dave

People reach a point sometimes where enough is just enough.....

It's been a pleasure and best of luck to you.

Dave,

Keep in touch. I have your email and you should have mine-I will sent it you just in case.

Sorry you feel this way but entirely respect your viewpoint. I will always remember you giving me the canoe. And your getting down in the snow to tie it up for me so I would not have to drive home soaking wet.

Shoot me a line and we can get together and talk hunting. I am in NW side of Indy a lot these days.

Best wishes. J

Delaney, you are the one of the main reasons I have stuck around this long. You provide the voice of reason when no one else can at times. Plus you compliment and encourage, something that is at times lacking here.....like "a public land gobbler is always trophy, congratulations". You said that to me a few times and I know you get it, even when others don't. Good luck w the steelies and all the fun stuff you enjoy. High regards, -BB.

I've said it over and over and over...... What happened when the DNR lost control of the whole Prop 1.0 due to others selfishness, misuse of power, and egos that would not relent to compromise ....... There would be a fracturing amongst hunters ( we have seen ) , a loss of trust in our DNR structure ( we have seen ), a loss of DNR staff in key positions ( we have seen ), and destruction of friendships ( we have seen )...... All at destructive levels we have never seen before in this State.

For those that fought to dismantle Prop 1.0 and what the fIrst choice the DNR wanted in restructuring our "deer path"....Pat yourself on the back this morning.... More destruction now laying at your doorstep as predicted.

..... And they still have the audacity to show up on this thread and wish a good guy farewell knowing the hand they had in this..... Or ..... More than likely don't see or want to admit to their acidic, destructive, egotistical, selfish ways as their life path that just lays a path of scorched earth behind them.... With more to come.

That being said..... Dave, you are more than welcome to any function, discussion or website family I host. We have only one rule...."post or participate with positive intent" .... And the people I've described above weed themselves out quickly.... And I keep them out. That's the way it should be....

Take care.... You have my contact info...

Sorry you feel upset enough to leave Dave but that is your choice. Good luck and good fishing.

Best way to get along is just let the whiners whine and ignore them. If no one will argue with them they will usually shut up and go away. But I do have to admit one is persistent. h.h.

I too, hate to see Dave leave. If any two people on here should hold grudges, it should be Dave and I. We have butted heads numerous times over the years, but I still call Dave a friend. I'd do anything for that man, and he knows it. The same goes for many others on this site.

When you get a group of people who are as passionate about their sport, as many of you guys are...there will be disagreements and words will be tossed like knives. Take a deep breath and step back and relax. Life's too dang short fellas. Gundude proved that to me.

So let's all cool off and reflect on what needs to be accomplished to better the hunting experience for all, for now, and for future generations.

Come back, Dave.

Dave, I hate to see it come to this. I understand your position though. If it is what you think is best, then it probably is. I know you try to keep things in line here, and are the voice of reason. But when you don't get any support on things that need to happen, i can see it. You've got my number when you are ready for some stripers. Hope you can chill a little and find your way back. Just stay out of the deer hunting stuff….I do most of the time now. Its just not worth my time.

Thanks DP... I like this site, but I'm tired of seeing the same clowns either whining about the "DNR is wanting to kill off all the deer" crap or the "DNR wanted Prop 1.0 but you guys wanted 2.0 and now pat yourselves on the back" B.S. and "Ohio does it so much better" B.S...

I don't give a rats rear end what the heck Ohio does with deer regs and probably neither does the majority of Indiana deer hunters care either... I would never waste my money hunting there so Ohio or their deer or regs don't mean jack squat to me...

Everybody wonders why deer hunters can't be united... Well take a look around here and you'll see why... I like this site for the good information that can be found here and for a good deal on guns or equipment on here... I've met a few really nice fellow hunters on here and it sucks that a few are ruining it for others...

I think the biggest disservice is that some are showing a lack of maturity as adults to the younger generation such as Luke and Magnum... We can be better then this ... We should be better then this...

To Dave:

Hate to see you leave, but I don't blame you one bit... Guys like you make this site great!... Good luck to you this fall!

Was wondering why I hadn't seen anything from Delaney in a while...searched his name and found this thread...Wow. Although I never met him, I feel like I know him. One of a few that have been here as long as me. Didn't always agree, but he was respectful. Learned a lot from him. Will certainly miss seeing his pictures. Dude does some serious fishing...
I totally understand though. I got so sick of reading about Prop 1.0 and prop 2.0,1.7,2.3 etc... it's supposed to be FUN! That's why I got away for a while. Went fishing. I'm buying a bird dog...Going to chase pheasants...And smallmouths, walleye,crappie...and deer...Elk...But I certainly don't wanna argue about prop 1.6

Right on. Thinking about Delaney the other day. Probably still getting it done in the woods and on the water. Sure could use a steelhead story right about now....

Delaney is doing OK. He has been fishing quite a bit in MI and deer hunted in So. Indiana and I got to go with him and his wife duck hunting at Monroe. A good time. He like me is seeing very few deer where he hunts and we hunt hours apart.

Delany is suffering from gout and is in quite a bit of pain at times.

Keep us posted brother. Prayers for Delaney's pain and relief from the gout.

I am not sure I understand why Delaney needed to tell us he needed to leave Hoosier Hunter? If one does not like a place just leave , but why tell others ? Yes I get it that some do not see things as we or others do . O K that is life . I for one like to see what others think , that is why I am here Thanks
tynimiller if Delaney does not want to be here why are you telling us what he is doing ?

With your post count and time on this board you may not understand, but then again you might. The Internet and the anonymity it gives makes some feel a little stout and chest banging, saber rattling etc can ensue. I like to hang out on another site with one rule: Be Nice. That approach works well. Delaney is a wealth of knowledge that's why we miss him.

The ones who do that are generally nothing more than pansies themselves but the Internet gives them what life never did...
