I just got this yesterday because I had real bad twang in my string and alot of hand shock. It was never there before, but couldn't figure out what was wrong. I went to gander and asked if I could try the String Tamer and the very first shot I took I was amazed. It was like a whole new bow. The bow techs looked it over and watched me shoot to make sure there was nothing wrong with the bow, but came to the conclusion that the string was just traveling too far forward. Anyway, it is an awsome product if you have any string noise or vibration. An instant fix.

Are those just spiders or something else? I know I use the limb savers and they work great, on my risers. But I use (whatever brand) spiders on my string. I have a little extra string noise this year and I,m thinkin they are worn out?

No the string saver is like an STS but supposedly better. Depending on what model bow you have, the base screws in on the opposite side of your stabilizer. I will try to get a link.

I Put one on my bow I has helped quiet the bow and reduce hand shock! Ill show you sat. Andy. They also claim it improves accuricy (sp). Great Product.

I,m not sure how that would improve accuracy. The arrow should well be on its way to the target area after release. I mean it should be gone before string taming is needed. I,m all for quieting a bow, but accuracy? That has to do with 10 percent pin accuracy and 90% the rest is the shooter, at least in my thinking.

I'm not sure about the accuracy thing either, but I did have to move my 40yd pin because I was shooting high. What the guy at gander told me was that the string can actually come as far forward as the arrow rest mount before it starts to settle. I don't know a whole lot about any of this but if the string comes that far forward, and the arrow is still attached to the string until the string comes back, it might improve speed a little. Maybe just wishful thinking, but I thought it was kinda weird that I was shooting high at 40 yds after putting on the tamer.

the thought on accuracy is it stops your string @ its "@ rest posisition". it makes your arrow leave the string @ a precice location instead of traveling farther forward than the "at rest posisition". if your string travels farther foward than @ rest posisition it could drift off center. That is the theory. all I know it "I LIKE IT!"
