Numbers were down a few years ago in Washington County where I hunt and had slowly been getting better, but we had a local farmer get some depredation tags this past Summer (and supposedly he killed 8-10 does) so we weren't expecting good hunting this fall.

But...the opposite occurred. We all saw good amounts of does, several young bucks and a couple of good mature bucks. No one shot a buck this year and opening day of gun season I let a mature 130's class 8 pointer walk because I have as good or better on the wall and didn't see the point of taking him.

So I can't speak for other areas, but my section of Washington County seemed to be in good shape this year.
