Is anyone on here a snowmobile guy? Thinking about buying a couple for use in northern Michigan, would be interested in any words of wisdom regarding purchase.

We ride in the UP of Michigan every year. We normally take at least one 4 day trip ever year and we will get in around 300 miles every day. It's awesome up there!!!! We are doing a back packing trip this winter and going ride from the Michigan/Wisconsin line all the way across the UP and back. Should be a blast! Are you wanting trail riding sleds for fast trails or are you wanting more of a comfort machine? Lots of options out there that is for sure!

Comfortable, trail riding and to drag portable shanties out ice fishing. Know anything about the ski Doo grand touring models? Have been looking at those.
My biggest concern is relaibility. With free time scarce, I get aggravated when my toys won't work.

I understand that completely, that's actually why I just rent a sled when we go north. It's costs some money but it's really nice to be able to just ride and not have to worry about things. Sure you might break a belt or something here or there but that's an easy trail side fix. I'm not familiar with many touring models at all though I'm sorry. We rented a Yamaha Vector last year and really like that sled. It wasn't the fastest sled on the trails but it was really smooth and easy to ride.
