Last year was a record harvest.

The population and harvest statewide seems to be stable. Biologists make decisions based on county and statewide data not anecdotal evidence based on single hunter observations. Deer population density can vary widely within one area.

EHD decimated the area around one of my farms. I chose not to hunt it for 2 years, now the population is back to pre-EHD levels. If the habitat is good, they will recover.
