Well my guess would be that he suffered an injury to one or both of his testicles... A few years ago I was hunting at Camp Atterbury and a guy shot a buck still in velvet and it only had one testicle when he went to field dress it...
This buck could also be suffering from a disease of some sort but without harvesting him and checking him out we may never know....
