l as well don't want to steal your thread, just a thought as to what l have done with two of my grand kids. l bought one a Mossburg Bantom 20 ga. Has three chokes and a scope mount. I started them shooting low brass 8 shot, less recoil, high brass a bump up in recoil, then slugs .One was 11 years and one 14. They have both been shooting some of my guns for ever. Started on a .22 rifle, .22 hand gun, 38,.9MM, ,45. Got a ,22/410 Rossi bag type gun. Didn't want to get that .410 scoped out. The 14 year old is one of my grand daughters and the 11 is a boy. She is the one l got the Mossburg for, and l think l lost my Rem. .20 1100 LT. to the boy. Have two barrels for it and the slug barrel is mounted with a scope. A hand gun shell type guns are great for them ,but no other use, opr limited.
