A few years ago I planted oats and wheat with turnips in between them. Both plots were the same size. Up to the time a hard frost/freeze killed the oats deer didn't seem to prefer one to the other. They ate about the same in both plots. After the oats died the deer ate wheat.

Winter wheat feeds the whole winter and the following spring.

You never know I might try some Buck Forage Oats next year. h.h.
