In most of the bigger cities we aren't short doctors for most specialties. In rural indiana there is a shortage. So a lot depends on where you live. In the big here cities many if the physicians are employed by the hospitals. In the exchange, Anthem went with a reduced network and so did MDWise. So, instead if the typical PPO plan here in indiana that has all the providers in the plan, the exchange networks are smaller and don't have the wide range of doctors or hospitals. Much of that decision came down to provider price. Now, in 5 to 10 years as many of the older physicians start to retire we will have a growing shortage.
