The State Park is surrounded by the Federal. Easy to hit both. Nice to hit up Michigan City too while over that way. We go to the outlets, then to the Michigan City beach and lighthouse, and there are a couple good bars and restaurants in town. My route to Michigan City takes me past the parks, so we usually make a whole day of it, hit up one park on the way to Michigan City and another on the way back.
