Visible chasing before daylight in field! After daylite a small buck came sniffing chase trail from earlier. My partner dropped a doe at 730m I'm buck only hunting, and packed for all day! GOOD SAFE LUCK ALL!

We'll see what happens.

I have no place to gun hunt this season, so I'm sitting here watching NCIS reruns..........finished raking leaves on part of the yard and washing my hunting clothes getting ready for the Dunes Park hunt....I'll finish up my special draw bow hunt next week also .........

Parker, I know how you feel. We got shined off by three different hunters and weren't running late at all. They all came in from private ground. First shot heard about 7:45 which is really late for public if you know what I mean. Saw more hunters than deer. Did hear a wild ricochet go through the tree tops over our heads. Gotta love public land opener.

Not much deer movement down in Jefferson county. Way to warm and windy.
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

SATURDAY Morn. I saw no deer, and I heard only one shot that was close to me. Sat. Eve. I saw no deer. But I did hear dualing shotguns fire 20 or more shots a piece, from a couple of idiots lined up along one of my property lines. One guy would empty and 2-5 min. later the other guy would empty, and then the first guy,etc... for about 20 min between 5 and 5:30. SUNDAY I laid on the couch. MONDAY I hunted the evening, I saw two does in a field @ 300yrds.... going the other way, right before dark.
SHHH.... Be vewy vewy quiet,I'm hunting WABBITS

Got the whole week off, so hopefully something will happen. The weather looks better for tomorrow. That is because all the private ground gets leased up now where 10 guys used to be able to hunt now 2 hunt that land which makes everyone else have to hunt HNF. Between the EHD, Non Antlered permits, Coyotes and bobcats, the deer numbers are starting to take its toll. I know I keep griping about the deer numbers in my hunting areas but i have hunted over 50 times this year. Total deer seen 15.

Originally posted by BigBuckD: Parker I am with ya. I have hunted fairly hard this year and worked to put myself in the best position possible and I am not seeing the deer. I have reworked my scent control, work hard on setting up for the right wind direction, and hunted new opportunities like park hunts and Big Oaks and I am not seeing hardly any deer. I am working patience now and still sitting as much as I can. Good Luck, keep your head up a deer might just walk by! BigBuckD, Thanks for the encouragement. Seems like the harder you think about things the worst it gets. My brother can climb a light pole in the walmart parking lot and shoot a deer. I will keep chipping away. You do the same.

Went out to Crawford Co. this morning, and hunted my oldest property. (Permission the longest). Sweetening the sentiment of the hunt, is the fact that I am hunting in a stand I built for my deceased brother. (We still call it "Bill's Stand")... About 8:30, in comes this yearling. Not far behind... a doe. I wait for a shot at the bigger deer, and to see if there are more deer (like a buck) with them....No buck, and no more does, so I wait for a good shot at the biggest deer. Eventually she gives it up, and I drop her in her tracks. Curious but not alarmed by the shot, is the yearling...He looks around, and mills around, but never spooks, while I re-load.... About the time the bullet stops on top of the powder, he starts up the hill towards where he last saw the other deer, and turned broadside....This one ran about 40 yards...
