I'd say the season has been over for a while in southern Indiana, plus the undergrowth is so thick it would be hard to see anything that has popped.

Up north here the undergrowth is knee high or better...I finally found 4 big yellows opening day of Turkey....there was 5 shriveled ones there also....these 4 were drying out also....still tasted good however....
