I had a friend's Labradoodle find a deer for me one time. The dog was as excited as me!

When I work her, I have a harness on her. That harness means to her that it is time to track deer (not birds, rabbits, or other critters). I am teaching her to track more on blood- not dead deer/gland secretions etc... Therefore, not every dog is equal in the type of track. If the deer is not secreting any blood at all.. it is a difficult track at times. I can move her in the future to track more on hoof/specific deer ID, but that will take more experience.
The benefit is that i use her as well for quail hunting. HOWEVER, being that we live in Indiana- I see more injured deer than quail (at this time)..
