Had a little R&R with the family on St. Simons Island last week. Sharks were everywhere. So, I had to give a few of them a case of sore mouth!!!

I usually fished the last hour of the outgoing tide, and the first hour of the incoming tide. The full moon made for some swift, and strong tides. The Blue crabs were in, and thats what the sharks were after.
A lot of the ones I caught I seen swimming close to me, and I just flipped a live crab right in front of them, hooking them right at my feet. They were fearless, often chasing a crab, right out of the water.

This is the same one in the pic above. They really tested my striper rod and reels, often taking 100 yards of line on their first run.

There were a lot of small blacktops, and spinner sharks to be caught.

The bait of choice, a 5" blue crab. They were thick, and nabbing a couple at a time for bait was no problem. BTW- next to goats, Blue Crabs are one the worlds most evil critters. They will chase and jump at you if you just look at them! They WILL make you bleed!!! First order of business after pinning one down, was claw removal with long handled pliers!!!

I finished the trip with a bang! I was cleaning out my bucket, and put the last two crabs on the lines. As I was getting stuff cleaned up to head back, I got a strike. As I fought the fish, a nice lady walking the beach stopped to watch after she couldn't believe it was a shark. She offered to take my picture, and as she was taking it, the other reel started screaming. You can see it bent in the picture.

I ended up getting that one in also. Probably the largest Bonnet head of the trip.
