ok, ya need it spelled out. Bring the dog in ONLY after he/she has emptied their bowels bladder. at first it will be for very short periods of time. Watch the dog closely for signs it may "potty". day by day work up the time inside till he/she learns the house rules. It wont happen overnight

Your married right? You don't have her trained yet either right? You didn't give up on her yet right? The dog will come around in time. The other one is a life long project..lol

Always take her out as soon as she wakes up and always after feeding and she will get it pretty quick but most dogs will empty their bladder as soon as they get up from a nap. Like they said above the light bulb will go off after a while but it does take patience

Good advice already given. I would add this. When you cannot keep an eye on the dog the dogs gets put into a kennel crate. When the dog first comes back out of the crate he goes outside and doesnt come back in untill he relieves himself ( you must stay out there with him and make sure he goes). As soon as he does you say good dog and then he comes right back in. I have had several older dogs that started out in the kennel for a few years and then are moved into the house at a later time and have never had an issure. Off course my dogs dont hardly relieve themselves in the kennel because they are regalarly let out into the airing area to go at a regular schedule. Hope this helps
