I really think most, the overall average, guys have simply to say to others that they killed a deer. When I talk to a lot of guys who deer hunt, it seems like they throw away a lot more of the meat then they eat. Generally, I don't think the average American citizen is overly worried about what's in their store bought food. I just think a lot of guys just like to shoot a deer because it provides some sense of accomplishment or "fun" and hasn't got anything to do with the value of the meat, helping an over population problem or anything such.
