The bear was spotted again up here, just off Johnson road/Hwy 20 and Trail Creek near a public trout/salmon fishing area S/SE of Michigan city... It raided a garbage can as the homeowners watched it at 10 ft from their house at 3am this past Thursday....I fish that area every year for Steelhead, the Skamania run will be starting here in July, may be its waiting for it ...lol...

This bear has now became a huge problem and the DNR has set barrel traps for it and want to relocate it back up to Northern Michigan...the bear is still in the same general area(east of Michigan City), and is now showing up on porches and decks and looking in patio doors and is getting used to feeding out of garbage cans....not good for the bear or the locals....

I spoke with some of the DNR staff on Tuesday and they have borrowed traps from Michigan DNR trying to catch this bear. They had it once but it destroyed the trap and escaped. They intend to keep trying to relocate her back to Michigan.
There's a reason I like dogs better'n people... .
