Got a text from clay saying the hog hunting is good again this year. The negative is that he believes the ranch sold last week. He said we may have to hunt another ranch.

This put the availability to stay the night before the hunt at his place in question. I told him to let me know ASAP so we can make other arrangements if needed. Let all of you know when I know.

Dunk: we will leave every hog we don't see. I think there are plenty. Just need to shoot straight, and buy the Sniper hog light before you go. Everyone in our group has one this year.

Hey Joe most all of us in our group have the sniper hog lights now fact i just bought an extra bulb in green so i have both red and the green one, hope you all have good weather and lots of pork

We mounted ours on C clamps(taped on with electrical tape) that way you can find a place to mout on the shooting house, I even put mine on the roof of one last year. when it gets almost dark we turned them on and left them on until hunt was over.I still had good lightat 11pm without changing out the battery. I don't recomend mounting on a rifle, if the light moves at all the hogs run! If you turn the light on when hogs are there the hogs run. Just our observations. All I use is the green on hogs.

Thank You Joe, I have both the red and green bulbs for mine will see how both work, good idea about leaving them on. I have another red light that has a a gell battery i can mount on window too, never thought about that

I know you guys have a trip planned so let me tell you our experience, that's what you are asking...............


First, the ranch we stayed at and hunted from before is SOLD! You will not hunt there, or stay there again.

We hunted the McNutt ranch again, the lodge was same as before "rustic". We hunted hard and seven(7) hogs were shot between 10 people. Food was cooked by another gal, ok, but it was not Holly,

I hunted and NEVER saw a pig, it was "My Turn". They are still wild critters. After hunting there 3 other years, "I" picked where I wanted to hunt.......picked wrong on four different hunts.

Clay's brother Marcus and guide Tim took care of us, they did a great job with the resources they had available.

I will not comment further until I get a chance to talk with Clay after the "dust settles".

looks like were going to have great weather next week highs in 70's mid 80's and clear skys nice break from the sub teen weather here at home

had a great trip seen lots of hogs total of 6 shot, a couple hit got away, a couple missed, booked back in for Feb next yr

Snow is Deep up there.....

brew, big bill fell over a log while deer hunting. broken shoulder and generally banged up. dale said the snow was some of the worst they have had.
