This is a great break from hunting in Indiana, hunting pigs between deer season and turkey season breaks up the winter duldrum. It helps when you use a great guide service who works herd to put people on hogs(and lots of them). The past couple of years the hogs had been down on the primary ranch, we were told it was because of drought, when they got rain the hogs would return. We hunted several other ranches nearby and had success. It has been a rainy fall and winter in the Hill Country of Texas and true to the guides comment the hogs returned. We did hunt another ranch(50 miles each way)but the hog sightings were basically the same on each ranch. Problem was Tony Zeb and Weed were sent there to hunt, bad news for hogs!

Anyone wanting a great hunt as promised for anything Texas has to offer contact Pope Brothers Guide service, you wont be disappointed.

One of our guides this year is the grandson of the owner of the famed King Ranch, 911,000 acres! The stories he told were worth the trip alone. He's a woldlife biologist, taxidermist, and guides for Clay part time....... an heir to the King Ranch. I think the future of wildlife and hunting on the King Ranch is safe with him

When science meets tradition there will be sparks.....
