Ok fellas, I have been leaning on the back wall all year and have been watching this forum from a distance and not posting anything because of the sarcasm on the other threads and just got tired of it. It is hard for me not to chime in on this trapping forum though and share some of my knowledge and experience. I am by far no expert and the coyotes know a heck of a lot more than I do. With that said I would like to add i do use earth anchors on my snares in crp fields or places where there are no tie offs. What I do is have a swivel on the end of my snare connected to either a split ring or a quick link and hook it to my earth anchor with cable on it. I slam my earth anchor in and then I take some heavy gauge wire about 30 inches long and make about a 2 inch J bend in it and put the J bend into the ground. This wire is what i hook my pig tail to. It works great. Now I will only catch 1 yote in that area because they will tear the crap out of that area. But 1 is better then none. I just started last week and have caught 2 females. One in a snare and 1 in a MB 550.
