Rained on Saturday until 3PM. Saw 5 deer but no shot. Stalked up on a 4 pter on Sunday morning and double lunged it with my .45 Hawkens using a patched round ball.
To my surprise the 127 grain round ball went threw the deer. DNR weighed and cut the jaw to look at his teeth to study their deer health. Not many acorns there this year so find the biggest producing acorn trees and look for deer scat.
Total of 420 hunter can hunt at a time and only 240 showed up Sat, 140 on Sunday. The DNR and FWS conducted a very good and orderly hunt.Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a great time. Thanks to Brew for helping me. h.h.
