I agree with everybody on the micro-locs. However, the small washer locks are ok also. I recycle all of my old snare parts after a catch, so I still have a ton of washers. When I do buy new parts, i get the micro's. Here is a simple solution to keep the coyotes form keying in on the lock, and stalling out. A leaf, with a very small twig stuck through it to keep it in place. Also, if you take two pair of fence pliers, and open the washers up a VERY, VERY little at a time, you can get them to slide and open easier. Be careful though, don't wan them relaxing to the point the snare opens too easy.
