Yaz it seems like 48-72 hours is the very bare minimum for the next catch. Usually more like several days to a couple weeks. No doubt the urine/feces/blood scents linger for a while. I try to cover up the obvious stuff, but of course all you can do is tone it down a little, their noses are way too good. A nice heavy rain or snow will settle the spot back down some. But when one trail or crossing point gets scented up, they just move over and use an alternate trail not far away. Where there's hopefully another snare waiting. [/b]
That's what I've found too SS. After three days is when I start looking for a set to produce…..that's on a new set with no previous catch. I have only caught a coyote the first night in a snare after putting it up one time. Putting a trap in the ground is a little longer. But, there is a lot more human scent lingering IMO. I was just curious since you have to spend a lot of time re-building the sets you make.
