Yaz I am in the process of getting my taxi license right now so I can tan outside of season but as I understand it with that license you can hold however many furs you want as long as you want as long as all are tagged and such. After Christmas I am going to call a co over and get all the rules but I believe you are correct.

I always thought there was no daily bag or possession limits for Furbearing game animals in Indiana. Which include beaver, coyote, gray fox, red fox, long-tailed weasel, mink, muskrat, opossum, raccoon, and striped skunk.

The signed form Is only a extension I believe you get a month extra. With the taxi license it allows you to keep them as long as you would like as long as they are all tagged and such in a logbook

[/b]That is correct Brew. For the individual TRAPPER However: For instance: As a licensed taxidermist, you bring me a coyote or coon or whatever to mount or tan. I skin it, and stick it in my freezer to mount. There is NO rule that says I have to mount that coyote, have it tanned by May/June of that year. I have it tagged and logged in my "book" properly, as the rule requires. That would be NO different than me, as a trapper with a taxidermy license, having my own coyote in my freezer past that date….as long as it is tagged and logged as required by the taxidermy rule. Who is to say I am not going to get those hides tanned either by myself or a professional tannery to sell later????

I got yeah... Personally, I think it would be a pain for no more benefit than you would/could get. A person would still have to maintain records and submit reports to be in compliance with the taxidermy permit.

Agreed. And be subject to unannounced ICO visits at any time to review your paper work. If you are not doing taxidermy work, when mess with this hassle? The reason I am getting it is I have started a tanning business and this allows me to tan outside of season. Its no extra paper work than what I already have to keep. Its just a added perk to be able to hold furs over. Honestly all my furs will more than likely be tanned and sold.

Its a $15.00 license too. And, its a gamble on the prices being better the next year, or it would be a waste of time and $$. Just threw it out there as an option.

Way to go Magnum!
Upcoming weather should be great for trapping. The only downside would be that if we get any snow cover, it'll keep the raccoons from moving much.

Even though we have wet ground at the moment, is anybody going out to make sets today?

That spot under an old crab-apple tree has always been good. That's the 3rd one caught there this year.
