I've got some with sardines, some with dry cat food and fish oil, and some with chub mackerel and jello mix combined. they've all worked so far.

Well, i guess things haven't changed since I used to trap regularly, coons just aren't terribly picky.

Mini marshmallows and HTS Sweet Success lure.

Neighbor just called and said I got 2 waiting for me when I get home. Me and the kids set in his cattle barn last night on some fresh sign. Will post pics in a few hours. laugh

Talked to a guy in Lafayette this morning who sells on the carcass, frozen, to a guy that comes down from northern Indiana every couple of weeks through a close friend. He is a close long time friend who I trust to be truthful. He said he has been told to only keep large coons and let the small one's go because the buyer has no interest in them. The close friend and family have caught about 50 coyotes and a number of reds. They don't let the reds go and apparently have been getting about 20 dollars apiece for the reds. Can't remember what he said the coyotes were selling for. Now, this guy and his family/friends are retired and they put out a lot of traps and snares so while the 50 number seems impressive, to him it's really not that big of a number.

Here is #3 for me. Biggest one yet. I lost 2 out of a DP, 2 days in a row. Not sure how, but I have a few guesses. Having a ball!

Caught these five over the last 2 days. Been alot of fun trying new sets I have never tried before. Also saw a lot of yote tracks while checking traps. Now is the best time to go scout yotes with this light snow on the ground and be ready to set coon sets cause they will go nuts in a few days when it melts off.

Any you guys have better ideas for setting traps for beavers when the water isn't deep enough for drowning rigs? Right now I'm just putting the traps in the water on their slides. Caught 2 out of the 3 sets over the week til the river edges froze, but I have lost a few that way since they don't drown and they somehow get outta those traps. And used those earth anchors for the first time this week, put two on each of those traps I caught those beaver on in Sandy soil and they didn't budge them, I won't ever use anything else those things are the real deal. Good luck everyone the freeze shut me down taking my son to hopefully fill his buck tag this weekend. He's 7 and refuses to shoot another deer until he shoots a buck. Crazy thing is he's only killed a button buck in his life, he passed shots on 6 does opening weekend waiting on a buck. I love his determination and hopefully it pays off for him.

What about using snares on them? Set your snare up and put a pole in the ground about a foot away. When the beaver snares himself he will wind himself around the pole until he can no more. Good luck to your boy on that buck he is after.
