Had two nice toons this morning. I let the hound out of the garage this morning, and went back to bed. I've been keeping her in because her attitude is much bigger than she can back up. She had tangled with coyotes twice in the last month. So, we don't want her getting chewed up any more. She knows right where my traps are at behind the house, and it took about 30 seconds, and I knew I had one!!!! So, I got up and got "her" coon! I'm not catching many at a time, but if I can average 3 a week from now to the end of the season, I will be happy. ![[Linked Image]](http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e329/GYaz/dogcoon_zpsfd880dc8.jpg) Ye ole bucket set with gizzard shad and little frisky's got another one. ![[Linked Image]](http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e329/GYaz/bucket_zps2236169f.jpg)

Hopefully she knows to keep her distance with the skunks Yaz! Nice pictures and one intense look on the dogs face.

Nice pics Yaz!!!
76 - sweet picture. Great way to start the morning.
We ended up getting 2 coons today. One decided to get tangled in a bunch of cockleburs and was a mess. Took me forever to brush it out as the guy who buys them from me said, "No way on that one until it is brushed." Got it done.

Good luck PB!
I'm setting foot traps and maybe a few snares on Monday. Im still buck hunting so I plan to set the traps on the other edge of my property, where the yotes go in and out.
Question, would road kill rabbit/squirrels be good bait in a hole set? h.h.

Nothing for us today except another kitty.
Yaz - we picked up a really nice mink today that was on the side of the road. Can't catch the crazy things so might as well pick em up when hit. My wife was mortified that I stopped and got it. Told her it was like passing up a $20 bill on the side of the road. "Redneck" was the word used throughout the day.

Gilley - I have had that happen a couple times. This is my opinion, so take it as such, but I try to anchor my DP's now in an area where they can't grab on to anything and pull themselves out. I think for me one time I only caught the fingers and not the whole paw. Like anything else - nothings works 100% of the time and pull outs will occur.

I would have picked it up also. I picked up a coon this morning on the road. I am not driving by an easy $20 Originally posted by bean: ...we picked up a really nice mink today that was on the side of the road. I see you have some white gold there up on top!! =) I pulled some dead sets today and set up some new bridges. Hoping for some coon in the morning before the cold front shuts everything down on Thursday. Originally posted by Yaz: Took the day off work to haul some lime on my hay fields. Deer hunted a couple of hours, and checked sets. Active night last night. Dad and I combined for 7 coons, and 4 grinners. I moved a couple traps on some good coon sign this morning. Only one problem, I seen some digging along the banks of this washed out tile. I have a feeling Pepi LaPew lives there!

I have seen them eat coons before, not the top on their list but they will eat it later in the winter when food is more scarce. Quartered up road kill rabbit and squirrel would be a great option also stuffed down a dirt hole. Originally posted by Gilley: ....the coon carcass I skinned yesterday and buried it and put a #3 buried beside it hoping for a coyote. You guys ever have any luck doing this?
