bean, maybe I have the terminology wrong....but a "cubby" is a hole that is open on both ends, and a pocket is a hole that dead ends. Mink love to crawl through holes. My mink "cubby's" start as a hole up on the bank, and ends in the water. Or, both ends in shallow water. I typically use a 1.5 coil spring under the water at the entrance. I toss a dead shad, or other type of fishy smelling bait up in the hole. You can use a body grip if you like. I set a foot hold trap because 110's aren't very effective on coon. I built some boxes, but prefer to build them out of rocks and natural material found on the bank. Since the mink season comes in tomorrow, I hopefully will be setting them. I'll take some pics and post.
