Bottom of the 9th Inning Full count....Boom! Here's my late archery buck from the evening of December 29th. I was having a rough season this year due to outside circumstances of nieghboring properties that I could'nt control which makes everything extra hard on a small property especially but I also had poor judgement earlier in the season by passing up really nice bucks in late October and early November cause I was hunting one particular buck that I ended up not seeing again and as time went bye it was getting harder and harder to get on a mature buck.
Finally on the evening of December 29th after refuseing to quit I kept at it and had this buck with a small group of does come feeding into my Perrienal food plot of clover and after being patient watching him for over a half hour he came close enough to give me a shot slightly quartering away and I got the Matthews drawed back and let the 85 grain Montec fly and it hit it's mark!! A G5 in the Beehive Baby!!!
Not near my biggest buck but so proud of him none the less!! To hang with it this late in the season makes it so sweet. And spending the day with my father which has some health issues and was there for moral support and to hang out at camp and to have two great friends come to help track and drag out this buck on one cold black night makes it priceless!
makes you really appreciate the little things and spending time with family and friends!
