this site is so intriguing its dangerous for ex. I was dirve a large car to Indy this afternoon that i paid more attn. to the ditch than i did the road. I was wandering what animal tracks i was seeing a pointing out to myself what i thought would be a nice place to set a snare.dont know how i made it there & back dont even remeber some of the road at all.
It's when luck & oppertunity meet

I have driven I74 from Greensburg/Rushville an hour and ten minutes to Indy most every day for 28 years now. I know every deer crossing, coyote crossing, where the best coon spots are……where the most road kills occur….I don't remember any of the road either!!!!

Im not done yet but my snares are under the snow right now. I haven't seen a fresh set of tracks in over a week - week and a half. Yotes are probably eating dog food out of some farm dog's bowl on their back porch.
I didn't set traps do to deer hunting and then the ground froze. Iv'e shot one and snared 5 yotes, 3 males, 3 females. I killed 6 each of the last 3 years now and I want to break my record. When the snow gets down Ive got 4-5 entrance-exit trails at the edge's of my property I want to set. My neighbor told me I could snare his woods too but I haven't even looked at it yet.
I'd like to kill 10 this year. h.h.

Could have been lower numbers, they figured me out, weather….who knows. Far cry from the 35 three years ago! I snared three on a dead cow carcass in one of Dad's spots back when it was really cold. He can't be in that kind of cold weather, and had to pull em up, as I could't be running to the North end of the county every night. That spot had potential for a bunch of coyotes to be caught. Hope to see the rest of you guys still catching them!!!!!

This thread has been a blast. First year for us. We learned a lot and it was fun to share the journey. Appreciate ALL the tips and help.
Our catches were: 32 coons, 18 possum, 5 coyotes, and 10 skunks. Not too bad for the limited traps we have.
Still plan on putting out my coyote traps but have not had the time. Going to hit it until the end.

A crown I will gladly give up next year if anyone wants it. Funny thing is ALL of them were caught at 1 place - an old abandoned barn. Caught some nice coon there too.

Nice. My wife and I this situation, like when you get ready pick up duck decoys and a par circles you but never comes back, the sucking sound. You know, when your ready to call it but you get sucked back in. Make'm pay Yaz!

Nice going PB. That coyote in the mud sure looks like it was ready for the end.

After 2-3 weeks of doing no trapping, we are back in the game for yotes. See what happens for the last 3 weeks of the season.

Ok…..Barring any more trouble makers, I'm OFFICIALLY done now! This one was on the lane right behind the house and barn lot. Cows were a little uneasy the last couple of days, and this set finally snagged her. I know I've mentioned before about re-baiting and luring up a set, and how I don't do it every week. This is the set I caught the fox in. I used the same trap, and piled up the bean chaff again, and put a little gland lure and urine on it at that time. Haven't touched it since. It has been covered 3' deep in snow, froze solid, rained on, and obviously muddy as heck, and still worked last night. I got everything else pulled today. ![[Linked Image]](http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e329/GYaz/securedownload-7_zps75e0db99.jpeg)
