This is the track set I made last Sunday. After a fresh snow last night a yote walked the track for over 100 yards in the track the set is in. Just before the set he followed a track around the set made by a friends quad who ran my snares yesterday.
When I saw he drove around the set yesterday I was P.O.ed to say the least. When I showed him the snares we parked the quads back about 60 yards and walked by the set to check a couple more sets.
He basically ruined the set.
Friday a neighbor went with me to check snares. He is snaring some land he owns too. I missed a yote on a little trail in some wheat straw. I was remaking the set and here he come walking up the yote trail, i walked 4-5 ft to the side of the trail. He pretty much ruined that set.
Sad part is both these guys have trapped for years and should have know better but some trappers are not good snarers and some snares are not good trappers.
From now on no one but I will be checking snares. h.h.
Sorry HH….I had to chuckle a little at the picture, before I read about it. Idda been mad too! Run back through the original tracks a couple of times and reset the snare. Take a broom with you, and from the quad, push snow back in where they are going around. They'll use it again.
