I've got an old friend south of Lafayette that has had a couple of snares out for a couple of weeks and his only catch was a red. This guy is 69 years old so he doesn't go at it hard but he said that in the deep snow this week he had coyotes backing out from snares he has had up for a couple of weeks. He said they then make a huge circle and come to the deer carcass from the other side of the thicket, along a county road, where there is no fence.
