They work well until I break them so I would take some deet too. I've been through 2 and currently without. Gotta buy the replacement packs and gas too but they work well for awhile.

Thanks I use a TCell ALL the time. I have taken it bear hunting, to South America, and squirrel hunting every time out. IMO that thing is worth its weight in gold during early season. Once it warms up the bugs are gone. If there is a strong wind or if you move places too fast it is not as effective. I will have mine out Saturday and Luke will be fighting for it.

I bought my thermcell at menards a few years ago when they were selling out for $12.00 and refill packs for 3.00. I bought 2 cells and all the refill packs. Ive used them in Florida hog hunting and no skeeters bothered me. Start it up about 10 minutes before you hit the woods. h.h.

I am hoping to get a thermacell for this squirrel season and a bit for deer season but if not off makes this thing fairly similar to a thermacell so i might try that. they carry them at walmart and i hear they work pretty darn good

Just bought yesterday. Glad you asked this question, DP. I was wondering if it was worth the $20 or not. Sounds like it was.
Any ideas, or tips on a holder for it?

Any ideas, or tips on a holder for it? You will have to buy a holder or just carry it. Turn it on as you go in woods to let it heat up. Takes about 10 minutes. Pads last around 4 hours and butane around 12. Just set it beside you and let it work. Hot pad can get warm but I have not had an issue.

my pocket works to carry it out there. I set it next to me on the ground. I have not found a need for the holster.... Originally posted by Cornfed: Just bought yesterday. Glad you asked this question, DP. I was wondering if it was worth the $20 or not. Sounds like it was.

I made a holster for mine using 1" nylon strapping and a metal clip which I bought all for less than $3.00. Clips on my belt loop.
I dont have much trouble unless I hunt within 30 yards or so of the edge of the woods, where the grass fields start. h.h.

Thanks, DP. Good luck to all who are seeking limb rats this weekend!
