Also when you say 4 to 8 squirrels is that a standard vs double batch? And if so the other quantities do they double?

If you don't have a pressure cooker, just quarter and cut up your squirrels as you normally would, place the portions in a pan of water and simmer until the meat can be pulled from the bones. It's really up to you on how many squirrels you want to use. The more you use, the meatier the chowder. All the ingredients stay the same irregardless, unless you want to cut the recipe in half, etc.
I was kidding about the "sir" part,,and I totally agree with your philosophy on teaching your children manners. Good on you, sir!!

Is the broth just what you originally cooked squirrel in?

No....the recipe calls for 10 cups of beef broth which you can purchase from the grocery. It's not involved in the cooking of the squirrel itself. At least I don't use it that way. I de-bone the meat and start from there.
You could use the broth you get from simmering the squirrel, but I find it easier to use the store bought broth. (I use an electric pressure cooker)

With a couple extra days off and looking at a 14 day stretch starting Friday I took some time to try and wack some bushy tails. Yesterday started off good by spotting 2 grays working in a oak, I never could get on them for they were completely in the top not presenting a good shot. At about 9 oclock as if a light switch was turned off, the cutting stopped, nothing but me and the mosquitoes and the heat. Today got up to go and the rain had set in so I stayed in to do my domestic duties. After a couple hrs go by the rain stopped and I decided to go. As I pull into the drive I am greeted by a red squirrel running across in front of the car and into a single walnut tree. I get out and load the rifle and to no avail I could not find that squirrel. Ended up with 3 fox squirrels I only have a pic of one of them.A heavy rain set back in and didn't get a pic of all of them. Getting ready for a wild game cook out some friends have every year.I'm going to use the chowder recipe that was posted earlier. ![[Linked Image]](http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u29/saltydog_61/9942_zpswsjmgtmg.jpeg)

Looks yummy anyway! Next up is the chowder. I pressure cooked this one last night and finished it up for supper tonight. I added a tablespoon of beef better than bouillon to the squirrel broth and then used it to make the gravy. Next time Im adding potato's, carrots, celery, peas and onions to make it into a stew. h.h.
