After season after season of attempt after attempt to kill a real nice buck, I finally managed to seal the deal on Tuesday night. The past two seasons I have really put it together. Yes I hunt on my own and hope no one finds anything wrong with that. I've been hanging stands and hunting spots where almost everything is in my favor. Last year I killed a decent little 8 pointer, but it was still not the buck of my hopes and prayers. On Tuesday night, I was hunting one of my farms that I haven't hunted much at all this year. The wind wasn't the best, but I really didn't care because I knew there was some nice deer running through there. At about 5:30 I got a text from my mom telling me to go to the local basketball game with her at my school . I decided to be done for the evening and head out at that point. I unloaded my gun and climbed out of the hangon stand. When I got down I debated whether or not I should reload my gun and thank the good Lord for that little voice telling me to reload it because it paid off in the next upcoming seconds. As I walked out of the woods to the field from my stand (only 10 yrds) I happened to look to my left right as I stepped out of the woods and at the exact same time about 30 yards to my left was a big buck that had just came out of the woods at the same time as I had. I through my rifle over, put the stock hard into my shoulder, put the cross hairs right where they needed to go and in a matter of just a couple seconds I had killed my first big buck after multiple attempts throughout all these years. He ran 40 yards and piled up. I got to watch and experience it all. The deer is all already taken care of. He was a 9 pointer, had a 19 inch inside spread, weighed 200-210lbs field dressed and was killed with a 30-06.

Big congrats magnum. Beauty of a buck. You could say luck was involved the way it worked out, but really the truth is that you made your own luck by scouting & hunting a good area, and by being there when you needed to be. You did real good young man!

Nice job magnum, that's a buck to be proud of. Congrats
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Thanks guys for all the great comments! Yes game was missed and there was some capping and a lot of meat processing to take place
