The time is almost here, with this cold front moving in and that special time getting closer we should all be excited fellas. I shot a doe this past weekend and she was starting the get the stank on her. Good luck everyone and stay safe.

Vacation #1 starts Friday (9 days) ... finally cooling some, but if the forecast wind directions stay as forecasted, I wont be happy... I want/need some northerlies to hit the stand locations I want to be in....Ive got locations for southerlies, but
the better "rut" locations are for northerlies (N/NW/NE), even a straight west would be good for a few locations (I have 34 locations ready to pack my stand/sticks into) ..... I see a lot of "southerlies" in the forecast .... All Ive been doing is morning hunts 'cause of work.... finally I'll be able to get in some PM hunts and an all day sit or two .. bring on the cold .. Ive passed on some "baby deer" so far, the only adults have been at a distance ..

Yes it should. This hard hitting cold front coming in all of this week should spark the fire I'm hoping. Starting to see scrapes and rubs pop up. I've already seen a buck chasing a doe and seen a lot of does a couple small bucks this past weekend. Killed a big doe on the 13th. Ready for that big buck.

My place in Ohio county is blown up w rubs and scrapes. Cams show bucks sniffing does a lot and with cold front and weather it could be good and cranking up w more daylight buck activity. Good huntin fells

32 on Saturday morning and 29 on Sunday! Can't beat that. I'm hunting 1 more weekend at Lasalle and the rest will be at Jasper Pulaski. Must win!!!

Watched a nice 250 # 10 pointer sparing heavily with very nice 8 pointer yesterday evening in a picked bean field on airport property, watched them go at it about 30 mins. I wished I have the video cam. To far for a cell ph.

Highs will be mainly in the 40's up here thru the week ... but waaaaay to many southerlies (S/SW) ... I want some Northerlies ! (N/NW/NE)... even a straight West may work in a few locations ...

yea, doing an all day sit tomorrow/Sunday in a good location.. .... had a real nice 9 come by today, but just out of range, there was a Doe he was interested in, she wasnt interested in him however, so he came back, just skirted me... tried grunting/soft bleats, he perked up, took a few steps to me and stood for a bit, then continued in his way .... ... we had snow flurries, big wet flakes this AM .... going to be 30 in the morning winds w/nw going w/sw later in the day... the winds were nasty the last two days.... gusts to over 20 ... not as bad Sunday ..

Two week vacation starts Friday. Headed to Martin county. Forecast is for a lot of rain. Taking the blind.

was out all day... at first light a doe came running by with a buck after her grunting up a storm, 50yds out, they circled me fast, went up the ridge to my right and were gone... 5 min. later 2 more bucks grunting went the same direction up over the ridge and gone.. it was still to dark to see size of 'em... sat all day there and didnt see another deer... 11 hours in that stand !
