I had 4 of my grandkids down to hunt my place. They ranged in age from 9 to 12 years old. Well Sunday morning we had a nice 8 point slip in on us and Eli the 10 year old saw him. Eli was calm as he settled the cross hairs of the .357 Marlin on the Bucks vitals, he squeezed the trigger just as he has practiced, the buck did a mule kick before he ran off and then the uncontrollable shaking began. After waiting a hour and following a short blood trail we fount the 150 Lb 8 point with a perfect heart shot. This was Eli's first time shooting at a deer and he got a nice one.
The other 3 grandkids helped with tracking and field dressing the buck but didn't get a chance to get a deer for themselves. We still have time to try to fill their tags this season. I am so proud of all of them.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
