No but IN is surrounded by a bunch. I'm technically in Illinois right now and I never hunt here because it is not hunter friendly.

Indiana dosnt deserve to be in the top ten .... not with the kill all the antlerless you can mentality of the DNR .....there are much better states out there, most of those have way better deer habitat also....

Agree with Jeff. Just a few years ago, I thought it was the best kept secret in the midwest. Not anymore.

I think Illinois bucks have become decent because they have an F-ed up hunting season. 2 seasons, only 4 days and then 4 days that are split apart by 10 days.
First Firearm Deer Season - 11/18/2016 to 11/20/2016 Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
Second Firearm Deer Season - 12/1/2016 to 12/4/2016 Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Good for allowing deer to relax for a bit and not hunker down, but everyone wants that first weekend.
Also you have to put in your preferred counties and are in no way guaranteed that you can hunt a particular county. Plus you have to apply for your firearms hunting license in the Spring.
One of the ways it likely helps the deer, but horrible for some guys that can't take a Thursday or Friday off work - deer are skittish by Saturday already. In Indiana, if you have a family obligation on the weekend, you can hunt during the weekdays when less crowded, but in Illinois - no chance!

Well, when a state like Indiana has around 30 days of guns blasting its hard to be #1 ... I dont want to be #1 in this case, or in the top 10......I dont want to see a rise in non-res. hunters or more pressure on the deer.......Yea, there are some good deer taken in this state, but it could be better, but is better really better... should it be better ??....really ?

Man, I'm glad I don't equate good hunting only in mature buck sightings.
Now if you're not seeing deer that sucks, but if you're seeing deer, but not mature bucks and are upset, well...
