Yesterday 11/21/2015 my grandson AJ scored on a very nice 10 pointer. AJ had his first bow kill this year on the youth hunt(a doe) on his first day bowhunting! Last year he killed his first buck with my son in law Dustin as he did the bow doe this year.
We decide it was time he stretch his legs a little and he bow hunted and then gun hunted by himself. We didn't pick his stands, he was on his own.
So yesterday he chose a ladder stand we call 22, at one time we had all our stands numbered then it became cumbersome. AJ had seen a big 10 pointer there on opening weekend but it jumped the fence onto a neighboring property chasing a doe so he did not shoot. I taught him well........LOL. So at 8:00 I hear a shot his way, then less than two minutes later I get a text, "he's down". I tell him to stay in the stand until I get there. 20 yard shot and forty yard recovery...........
This youngin is going to be good one day! Ask him and he'll talk about all the "smaller" bucks he passed .
Now let me tell you......... there is a reason why God made us to have children at a young age, this boy wears me out with questions and wanting to hunt!
No picture but after killing we told him he was now camp cook, we ate some dang fine chili last night also.
