I am Double B's son and am going to tell the story behind the buck I killed today.
So as opening day rolled around and shots were fired throughput the hollar, I just wanted to see some activity. Wanted to see a deer near me. At about 845 I did. I saw a bruiser stroll quickly within my line of vision for about 3-4 seconds. Then he vanished way before I could even grunt. At about 930 I heard lots of rustling of leaves and then saw a doe getting chased by a mature buck. Didn't have a shot.
Then about 1045, I see a huge set of antlers emerge from the big timber. Brute was heading away from me and at a quarter angle. Then this dude hit the woods edge alongside a big logging road opening and straddled the wood's edge heading straight for the mock rub and tarsal gland we had set up. He was at about 20 yards and then I took my shot. He folded up like a lawn chair. CVA Wolf did its job and then some! I feel beyond blessed to kill a Booner like this and know I'll always be spoiled because of this. But at the end of the day, I really just enjoy the time I get to spend with family and getting away from it all. That's what hunting is really about.

Very nice another attribute to public ground. Congrats again. I have a book maker off public ground. That looks very similar except brows aren't as nice as yours. Mine was southern HNF
